a cathedral is a memorial of a martyrdom of the chivalrous king Alexandra I. The Consolidator The climax of religious disputes in the 20s and 30s of the 20the century was the construction of an orthodox cathedral at Chudobín. Josef Žídek, a priest, who also helped to build the Chapel of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, organized this all.

The author of the lazout, interior and internal decorations was Andrej - Vsěvolod Kolomacký. The cathedral was built thanks to the efforts and money of the believers of Chudobíně and surrounding villages in 1934 –1935. During the “Heydrych period” during World War II the cathedral was closed down. Nowadays there are regular services.

The beautiful building with five spires and the front tower can be seen from far. This building and other two churches gave a nickname to Chudobín – it is called a village with three churches.
