One of the oldest villages in the region Litovelsko. Situated 3-km southwest of Litovel along both banks of the stream Loučka.
3 km south-west of Litovel along both banks of the stream Loučka there is one of the oldest villages of the region, the village Haňovice, which is crossed by roads connecting Litovel with Senice. The main part of Haňovice has a typical character of a village at Haná, where houses stand very close to each other along the paved main road. The area of the village is nearly all plain as it is a part of the Prostějovská pahorkatina /plain/, but it most western part is already quite hilly due to the Bouzovská vrchovina /highlands/.
The village is located strategically from the point of view of transport accessibility as the railway is easy to access and it provides good connection with neighbouring villages as well as Litovel. Its northern neighbours are Nasobůrky and Chudobín, its western neighbour is Nová Ves, and in the south we would find Myslechovice and in the east Chořelice.
The current village square is attractive for its reconstructed Chapel of Cyril and Methodius, in front of which there is a cross with the Calvary as well as the Monument for Victims of World War I. Also the citadel built in the 16th century is worth mentioning, which was later changed into a chateau.
