The village is 366 m above sea level in the northwestern part of the district of Olomouc. It belongs to the most popular sights in the area not only because of its majestic and fabulous castle. There are 12 other villages associated to Bouzov: Bezděkov, Blážov, Doly, Hvozdečko, Jeřmaň, Kadeřín, Kovářov, Kozov, Obectov, Olešnice, Podolí and Svojanov.

The village is situated in the northwestern part of the district of Olomouc at the end of the hills of the Drahanská vrchovina /highlands/, at the foothill of the hill, 366 m above sea level. It belongs to the most popular sights in the area not only because of its majestic and fabulous castle, in whose premises and neighbourhood there was shot the fairy tale “The flying cobbler and princess Jasněnka”. There are 12 other villages associated to Bouzov: Bezděkov, Blážov, Doly, Hvozdečko, Jeřmaň, Kadeřín, Kovářov, Kozov, Obectov, Olešnice, Podolí and Svojanov.

The village history and sights are related to the establishment of the Bouzov Castle, which is surrounded by a nicely maintained park. Not only tourists can go and make a tour of the castle but at present it is also used for romantic wedding ceremonies. In the very beginning the village belonged to the lords of Kunštát and Poděbrady, however in 1695 it was bought by the order of German knights and only in 1850 it became a part of the hetman’s district of Litovel. In the 19th century Bouzov became a rather poor town that depended on the former Suzerain.

One of the Bouzov monuments is the Temple of St. Mary Magdalene that dates back to the 14th century. On the village square there is a stone cross with a corpus of Crucified Jesus, on the pedestal there is a relief of St. Mary Magdalene which dates back to 1816. Besides the mentioned Castle there also is the Gallery in the Ravelin with a 15 m high the Grecian horse and exhibition of artworks.

Particularly for children there is a racing track for formulas. In our country still not that known “glissade” lies in sliding down the hill, to whose top you are transported by a funicular.

The tourists that really like doing sports can enjoy cycling paths in quite rough landscape in woody hills – the map of the paths is located at the Panské rybníky /Lord's ponds/.
