St. John’s bridge

In 1592 when townsfolk of Litovel had very good times they built a stone bridge across the river Morava. It is the oldest stone bridge in Moravia and third oldest in the Czech Republic. It stands on 6 pillars and in the middle there is a statue of St. Jana Nepomucký by Jan Sturmer.

The quality of the construction is demonstrated by the fact that it survived all floods that affected Litovel. At the end of the 20th century it was reconstructed and it started to look similarly as it looks nowadays. It is one of the most beautiful constructions in the town.
