A small village located on the borderline of the national nature reserve Třešín and protected nature landscape area Litovelské Pomoraví, 242 m above sea level. It was founded in 1350. At present it has 104 houses. The municipality Sobáčov and Nové Zámky are associated to Mladeč.
From the upper end of the village Měrotín we descend down the fields towards Mladeč, where the fertile valley of Haná starts.

Since 1933 a part of the village cadastre has been a part of the national nature reserve Třesín, the northern and western part of the cadaster has belonged to the protected nature landscape area Litovelské Pomoraví since 15/11/1990. The municipality Sobáčov and Nové Zámky are associated to Mladeč.
Probably the most attractive spot of the nicely-arranged village Mladeč are caves discovered at the end of the twenties of the 19th century where there were found numerous human and animal remains from the Palaeolithic Age and Stone Age as well as bone properties from the same period. In 1918 close to them they opened a tourist chalet and seven-meter long toboggan run, whose operation was then supervised by the strong man Gustav Frištenský (European champion in Greco-Roman wrestling style
