The village is famous for its two attributes: the important rail junction and folk architecture of Haná. It is located in the northern part of the district of Olomouc, on the way from Litovel to Uničov, on the left bank of the stream Čerlinka, which mouths into the river Morava. The village is 233 m above sea level. It was established in 1287 and at present it consists of 285 houses.
The eastern neighbour of Červenka is Tři Dvory, the southern one is Litovel, and the northern neighbours are Střelice, Renoty and Dětřichov, its western side is protected by the wood Doubrava. From the geomorphologic point Červenka is situated on the frontier of two units: the Hornomoravský úval /Upper Moravian Ravine/ and the Středomoravská niva /Central Moravian Flood Plain/. The territory was originally covered by the woods, mainly leafy woods were cut off and the area was transformed into a field. As in the whole territory of Litovelsko the climate is a transition between inland and seaside type and Červenka is interesting due to the fact that the harvest is a week earlier here than in the rest of Haná.
Landscape surrounding the village is variable, the forest Doubrava belongs to the protected nature landscape area Litovelské Pomoraví, whose part also stretches into the village cadastr, which shows that real connoisseurs of fauna and flora as well as lovers of nature and aesthetics will be pleased. Out of numerous kinds of plants we should mention the trees that are most frequent here: oak, beech, hornbeam, pine and spruce (south of the village there is a giant tree with a symbolic name "King Oak"), the flowers are: snowdrop, primrose, pilewort and anemone, we can even find the unique yellow iris; the most frequent animals are: hares, weasels, various amphibious, insects, fish and frogs …but the woods are also full of mushrooms so mycologists and gourmets can find chanterelle, all kinds of edible boletuses, shaggy boletus, yellow boletus, champignons and others.
There are several sights here. One of them is a Chapel of St. Pavlína dating back to 1789. In the village there also is a Church of St. Alfons and Storehouse at Svatoplukova Street No.8, which is a part of the estate made from unburned bricks and which is covered by a saddle roof. The construction is a part of the folk architecture from the 19th century.
