A little village on the foothills of the highlands of Haná, west of Olomouc, 260 m above sea level. It was founded already in 1348. It has 340 inhabitants.
Senička is situated west of Olomouc, on the border of Haná, on the foothills, 260 m above sea level. The village has 91 houses and about 340 inhabitants. Senička used to be known for high quality horse breeding but besides the necessary smithery there also were two mills, the Upper and Lower one, oil mill and grocery. Since 1994 the village has been a preserved area, which means that newly constructed or reconstructed houses must comply with the original character of the village.
At present the preserved monument is the Chapel of Saint Guarding Angels on the square. Then there is a reconciliation cross inside the Chapel. The cross dates back to the 16th century. The condemned to death asked for mercy by carving of the reconciliation crosses. In 1823 there was built a statue of St. Jan Nepomucký, whose character was enhanced by 200-year-old lime trees that where uprooted by a windstorm in 2002. Counter flood barriers in the garden of the house No. 28 are very popular.
